Promises to Myself

I will only work where the "every day" people are as crazy and nutty as the people who work and shop at the Marsh.

I will be selectively literal until the day I die.

I will be glad for each day, good or bad.

I will give people a chance, even the ones I hate right off the bat (case and point, my friend Sara . . . "hate" is a strong word).

I will never be good about keeping the cell phone near me, but I'll get better at returning phone calls/texts.

I will not worry about the "boy" thing. They come (no pun intended) and go at will, and I'll always be inclined to let them.

I will always "honor" the wing man role, and wish I could be a better one for Reysons. Bro's before ho's . . . knowing full well, your "bro's" will always fall back in support of you finding love, never hinder.

I will never blame some one, anyone, for my actions or "lonely no action." Ever.

Damn be this wind.

With a little help from the Postman, Fritz Lang and Townes Van Zandt are making their way to Fearless this week. Yesssss.

Q: Why Does The Nice Guy Finish Last?

(. . . even if he was born to run)

A: Because he never thinks he has to play by the same rules as all the other players.

I wrote about accepting all the horrible things a guy might say to me if I finally told him I cared. I wasn't asking for any explanation of said possible things, I was just recognizing the possibility of those things happening and realizing he was worth all that pain. Like my buddy pointed out tonight no one really "knows" anyone else (don't fuck with me on this point, I'm versed in epistemology) . . . all we have are our beliefs. I finally got to a point where I was certain the pain of losing this guy was something I was prepared to live with. But not getting a chance to try . . . well that was a regret I was not prepared to accept.

Apparently the feeling was not mutual, he still needed more facts. Sorry I didn't come with a receipt and a 30 day money back guarantee. On that note, I hate working the return desk of Marshalls. I hate having to tactfully call people out on lying.

I can be wrong about the facts. I can misunderstand all the reasons. I can miss all the clues.

But how I feel is very much real. And as I've stated previously in past arguments, you can't really argue with feeling.

That Would Be the Difference Between You and I

I would have . . .

My Favorite Post Secrets This Week

People watching is the number one charm of being out and about.

At least they weren't the only ones or the most fascinating.

"To love oneself is the beginning of a life long romance."--- Oscar Wilde

I finally got to thank this girl at work for finally asking me what I wanted. She didn't tell me what I should do, she didn't tell me how to act, or how the game should be played . . . hell she didn't even tell me she understood how I felt. She asked "Do YOU want to talk to him again?"

At my work last week I had four people asking me for something at the same time. They were standing approximately 5 feet from each other. It didn't bother me so much that they were all asking me for something . . . it bothered me that they didn't notice each other and all seemed perturbed they didn't have my undivided attention. I can't juggle for shit and I'm sorry.

But . . . and maybe you'll understand someday when you're a dad and your wife is calling you upset you forgot something and your boss is threatening you because you aren't putting in the overtime you need and your kids are crying you don't spend enough time with them and . . . the whole time you're trying to hold everything together . . .

Shame on you for putting it all on me.

I might be wrong

is one of the greatest LIVE Radiohead albums. I can NEVER decide which Radiohead album is my FAVORITE, but . . . I don't think I'll ever change my mind on this one. I love artist on artist stuff, and artists doing their thing live.

I Might Be Wrong, but even the DRUNKS would agree

I'm not the only sad robot, Mr. Postman. And my friends are just trying to make me feel better, via shitty jokes as well. I'm sorry I jumped the gun, I just didn't want to be waiting in that tree house again.
