Bravo!!

So last night's episode of "The Millionaire Matchmaker" was a gem. Now I don't like to name drop but . . . Justin Shenkarow. Yep. There's so much I want to say about the man behind Simon Holmes, but Patti summed it up beautifully with two little words on the show, "Angry Hobbit."

Now no one is perfect, and I'm not trying to knock the guy (or ANY ONE) for doing his thing but he clearly NEEDS a piece of humble pie.

Sick of being Sick

I've watched so much TV in the last few days I feel my brain oozing out of my ears (though that may be the ear infection . . . I'm not entirely sure).
I watched 10 minutes of Jersey Shore, that's approximately 8 minutes more than the first time I sat down to watch, and that was 10 minutes too many. While MTV's "TrueLife" that focused on the Shore a few years back (every one remembers Tommy and his "woobie") was informative and relatively true, almost anything that MTV turns out nowadays is pure and utter over-produced crap.
"Millionaire Matchmaker" was down right hilarious. Everyone, millionaire or not, should listen to Patti. LOVE HER!!!!!
"Criminal Minds" is always a pleasure. Always.
I was stoked to be home and snug as a bug in a rug waiting for NBC's Thursday's lineup. Then the power went out. Fuck you National Grid.
I slept through most of the last four days but I'll never forget Patti the Matchmaker quoting Judge Judy, "Beauty fades, dumb is forever." Amen sisters.
Speaking of strong women (well she may be a man, the jury is still out) Miss M is moving on. We'll be without a head manager next week but I'm interested to see who they get to fill her shoes.

Anyways, my little brother just came home and I'm going to force him to listen to this song while I use his computer to "pay my bills."

What? It's just a little girl power music . . . next on the annoying him list is the Spice Girls.

My So Called Life Goodness

No drama about High School can EVER compare to the greatness of this series. Sorry freaks, sorry geeks, sorry vampire slayers and sorry second-string quarterbacks.

Add Angela to that list of redheads I love. Angela monologue from the Pilot (from mscl.com):

It just seems like, you agree to have a certain personality or
something. For no reason. Just to make things easier for everyone. But when
you think about it, I mean, how do you know it's even you? And, I mean, this whole
thing with yearbook -- it's like, everybody's in this big hurry to make
this book, to supposedly remember what happened but it's not even what
really happened, it's what everyone thinks was supposed to happen. Because
if you made a book of what really happened, it'd be a really upsetting
book. You know, in my humble opinion.

Buffalo Tom, Late At Night

No one
rocks the plaid/flannel look as well as Jared Leto. Sorry gentlemen. I love the way he leans . . .

Another Way to Die

Screw the Perseids. I've always been an Orionids kind of gal. They were the first meteor shower I ever saw, and reporting on our school's outing to see them, the first story I ever wrote for my high school newspaper. The Orionids are in October and are the love dust from Halley's Comet (another Celestial Love of mine). A friend and I camped out on the beach last night in attempts to see the Pussies . . . I mean, the Perseids, what most consider one of the best-to-view meteor showers (approximately 60 meteors per hour). But after an hour of trying to simply catch a glimpse of the moon, hidden by clouds, we gave up and decided to go home and watch Quantum of Solace. Sidenote: My dream playlist would be all the songs written for the beginning credits of the Bond Films. Sooo sexy.

Another Way To Die, Jack White and Alicia Keys

Before we popped the movie in, while we were sucking on some freezepops, I finally got to see The Debarted. It was one of those episodes of the Simpsons I regret (believe me I use that word sparingly in my life, and almost NEVER use it for television/movies/books . . . etc.) having missed. Possible best quote from Principle Skinner, "I'm gonna be all over you . . . like a numerator over a denominator." Bad ass, Skinner, bad ass. Love, love, love the music choices for the episode as well, "Cruisin," D'Angelo version, and Drop Kick Murphy's "I'm Shipping up to Boston."

While watching more True Blood last week I had a funny conversation with Alison Wonderland about what working in retail would be like if vampires really were out of the coffin. First, our retail chain would be the first to stay open to accommodate the new clientele, and I would be the first in line to sign up for the Vamp Shift. Oh my God, the marketing would be enough to fuel my snark for decades.

Been watching a lot of Late Night shit. I'm on the fence about a lot of it.

Some girl said "Let's peace" to her mother the other day. I sort of wanted to punch her.
